EXCELSIOR by Joe Sutton 🎭Directed by Ezra Barnes+Featuring Megan Greener* and Christopher Lee* What is it to be an American? &nbsp; What has it been from the start? &nbsp; What is it today? Just how noble are we? &nbsp;How vulgar? &nbsp;How bigoted? How free? All of these are the questions that Joe Sutton&rsquo;s play EXCELSIOR explores, first through the unlikely romance of young, free-spirited 19th century English novelist, and the object of her desire &ndash; a charmingly awkward, if Harvard educated, New Englander. &nbsp;Then, in act two, through another surprising encounter &mdash; this one it&rsquo;s best not to divulge. In the end, the question that&rsquo;s asked is age-old: &nbsp;Can love transcend identity and beliefs &ndash; or are we inescapably bound by prejudice? -- Please make reservations to see the culmination of a weeklong workshop of this play. &nbsp;There will be a pair of readings on Saturday night, April 18th, at 7:30 pm, as well as a Sunday matinee, on April 19th, at 3.
