The car she was riding in with her mom, brother and best friend was rear ended at a high rate of speed. As a result of this accident, Gracie received life threatening head trauma resulting in multiple skull fractures and brain injuries. As of this date, she is still unconscious and in intensive care. Her short-term outlook should improve, but doctors have warned the family that her recovery will be measured in months to maybe even years. This tragedy has forced Jared to take a leave of absence for an unknown amount of time. Add that to the possibility that Jared and Megan may have to care for Gracie for many months to come, and it’s obvious the expenses will begin to pile up.
