Since 2008, Hope Blooms has provided a safe space for youth in Halifax’s inner city to grow their own food, practice environmental stewardship, impact food security, contribute to community development, and create and market their own signature brand of salad dressing with proceeds going into scholarships for the youth involved. Currently, our youth run 3 more social enterprises: Hot Cocoa Boys, Possibili-teas, and Tri-Gold Beauty, proceeds go to a social cause of their choice. What began with a small plot of land, has grown into a youth-driven movement with over 375 youths impacted and over 100 families/seniors from diverse ethnicities across the province with our online and school programs.
