CREATING FORWARD: A new not-for-profit organization

Creating Forward was created to honor the memory of Bob Taylor, a local businessman and father of Chad Taylor. This organization's focus is on those things that he himself supported in life and is meant to continue on his spirit of giving "from the background". Bob believed in charitable works for their own sake, and not for the sake of publicity and promotion and so we continue in the spirit of making the world a better place one gift at a time.

Mission: Creating forward’s purpose is simple; to create a source of funds to support and promote creativity in the fields of the performing and vision arts, the written word, business and entrepreneurship, and the care of animals.

Structure: Creating Forward will be a 501(c)(3) organization incorporated as a Not-For-Profit Corporation in the state of Florida.

Funds Structure: Creating Forward will act as a general fund for all monies donated, but will be structured with individual pools of money going toward specific causes. Those who wish to donate may do so in a general capacity or specifically into one of the pools, where funds will only be used for that specific purpose. The pools will be identified as followed:

  • The Insomniac Fund: This pool will be used to support creativity in the performing and visual arts.
  • The LAM Fund: This pool will be used to support creativity in the written word.
  • The Bob Taylor Fund: This pool will be used to support creativity in the realm of business and entrepreneurship.
  • The CodyBear Fund: This pool will be used to support creativity in the care of animals.

Use of Funds: Funds in Creating Forward will be distributed on a case-by-case basis and will be distributed in the following ways:

  • Once sufficient funds are gathered in each pool, the funds will be used to provide mini-grants to support the stated causes. To ensure objectivity in distributing funds, a committee of three persons (including at least one board member, but no more than two) will be used to judge applications and grant awards.
  • Funds not used for grants will be used for marketing and fundraising purposes.
  • Board members may only directly receive funds if in payment for services rendered, for example, should the fund choose to hire the board member to run a specific event or service and only for fair market price.
  • Board Members will receive no salaries for their involvement in the organization itself.
