As a pre-medical student at the University of Texas at San Antonio, my passion for addressing global health issues and pursuing a career in medicine is driving me towards two impactful initiatives this summer: Medical Outreach Internship to Guatemala:🩺 This summer, I have the incredible opportunity to join the University of Alabama &amp; UTSA VAW: Global Health Alliances Medical chapters in pursuing a Medical Outreach Internship to Guatemala. This initiative involves working in mobile medical clinics, where I will engage in essential tasks such as patient intake, conducting public health surveys, taking vitals, shadowing local physicians, contributing to pharmacy operations, teaching education classes, and so much more. Your support will empower me to contribute firsthand to improving healthcare access in underserved communities. UTSA Study Abroad Program in Alicante, Spain:Additionally, I'm excited to share that I have the opportunity to earn 6 credits during the summer in the entire month of June in Medical Humanities and Healthcare Interpreting. This immersive program takes place in Alicante, Spain, offering a unique blend of academic courses and hands-on experiences in collaboration with the Medical School at the Universidad Miguel Hernández. The program offers a medical curriculum in Spanish which includes courses in medical humanities, medical interpretation, and anatomy labs, which will not only bolster my academic profile but also deepen my understanding of the arts and humanities in healthcare. Furthermore, I will be exposed to the free healthcare system in Spain, thus broadening my healthcare understanding from a global perspective which will be invaluable in my future medical career. As such, your donation will not only support my academic journey but also empower me to become a physician capable of making a meaningful impact on patients' lives, regardless of their background and make a meaningful difference in healthcare by moving towards a more global health perspective and partnership. How You Can Be Part of My Journey:🤝 I am requesting your support, as a valued donor, in making this meaningful journey possible.
