Here's what your financial support will help: In response to the creation of 3 new housing subdivisions, 2 new solar farms, increased population, increased traffic accident occurrences, and a new interstate highway that is being built in our immediate response district, our non-profit volunteer fire department has no choice but to build a new fire station in our community, so that our volunteers can better serve and protect the public that live, work, and travel through our community. Risk Analysis: Local risk threat analysis includes 3 new rural housing divisions, in our immediate fire response district, that has over 600 new construction homes already built (with another 800 homes plotted and planned to be built in the future), surrounded by heavy brush, and rolling hills, with ZERO fire hydrants built in these new rural housing divisions. These new construction homes were built without city fire code regulations, due to the location of the new subdivisions being built outside the city limits; hence the reason for no fire hydrants being installed in the subdivisions. Our volunteer fire station is the closest fire station to this new housing division. We are 9 miles away from this new subdivision. We provide exclusive fire protection to these new subdivisions; the nearby city of San Angelo does not provide fire protection to these new subdivisions due to their location being built outside the city limits. Critical Infrastructure our volunteer fire department provides exclusive fire protection for: 1. Major Water Supply Distribution System that goes from Central Texas, through our fire district, to the Permian Basin of Texas (Midland/Odessa, Texas). 2. Multiple State Power Grid Systems, to include 2 new solar farms. 3. U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) dam (40,885 feet long and 128 feet high) and; a 5,440 acre reservoir (city water supply). 4. 3 Major Natural Gas lines & 1 Major Petroleum line. 5. (2) University Agriculture Research Facilities/Properties (Texas A&M University 270 acres and Angelo State University 6,000 acres) 6. 1 State Park, 7,677-acre San Angelo State Park. 7. Future U.S. Interstate 14 (currently US HWY 87) will travel through the heart of our fire district. 8. 3 industrial plants: one fiberglass tank manufacturer, and 2 steel production plants. 9. 4 separate public school campuses 10. 5 separate churches GCVFD organization information: The Grape Creek VFD, established in 1972, is a small volunteer fire department serving the rural, unincorporated community of Grape Creek, Texas. The Grape Creek VFD is a 501c3 nonprofit organization, in good standings with the IRS and the State of Texas. To ensure financial transparency and compliance, all of our financials are voluntary submitted, yearly, for audit to a contracted third-party accounting firm, and we submit all of our financials to the federal, state, and local government entities via our organization’s yearly IRS 990 forms. Since our organization’s inception, the Grape Creek VFD has never been out of financial compliance and/or has ever experienced any discrepancies with the management of our financials. The Grape Creek VFD is made up of 24 volunteer firefighters. Grape Creek VFD is a 100% volunteer staffed organization, with none of its members receiving any type of financial compensation or benefits. Grape Creek Volunteer Fire Department serves an immediate fire response district of 210 square miles, with a growing population of 18,000 citizens in the rural unincorporated community of Grape Creek, Texas. Grape Creek VFD protects the most population, and the most homes and private businesses, than any other VFD in our county. Grape Creek VFD has the most certified and trained: firefighters, vehicle rescue technicians, and EMTs & Paramedics than any other VFD in our county. Grape Creek VFD provides exclusive fire protection to the following unincorporated communities & unincorporated subdivisions:  Grape Creek, Buffalo Heights, Highland Range, RM 853/Arden Rd Industrial Sector, FM 2105 Industrial Sector, Lake Gardens, Concho Lake Estates, Angelo State University Agriculture Research Facility, Texas A&M Agriculture Research Facility, and 4 Grape Creek ISD school campuses. Four major roadways travel through the Grape Creek VFD response district, which include: US HWY 87 N. (future US Interstate 14), FM 2288 (serves our Buffalo Heights and Highland Range communities), FM 2105 (serves our industrial businesses), and RM 853 (serves our industrial businesses).
