The Givers Revival is a healing and spiritually-grounded arts experience offering rest, renewal and regrounding for organizers, practitioners, leaders, artists, helping professionals, innovators, political actors, community folk and families involved in liberation movements in the US South.  The U.S. South, and Florida specifically, are sites of extreme contention during U.S. election cycles. Activists & organizers will be on the frontlines during the 2022 midterm elections protecting our liberties. Our freedom fighters often move from one fight to the next without stopping to rest, recover and reground. Doing so is vital for a sustainable, healthy movement.  One that embodies the liberation we are seeking. The Givers Revival is a space to lick our wounds, rest, connect and enjoy each other. The Givers Revival is our watering hole. Why is healing & wellness important in the social justice community?<ul><li>Trauma is widespread. People on the frontlines actively experience traumatic stress from systems of oppression. This includes anxiety, depression & despair, and hopelessness.</li><li>Trauma has consequences. Unaddressed trauma leads to movement infighting, self-harm, addiction, medical issues, incarceration, exhaustion, violence and burnout.</li><li>Healing is our birthright. Our people have been systemically harmed, violated and brutalized for generations without recourse for reparations and repair. </li><li>Healing frees our liberatory imagination. Healing opens up possibilities, allowing us to more easily access our radical imagination.</li><li>We deserve peace & pleasure. Healing is an affirmation of our humanity in a system that systemically dehumanizes us.
