Riders are also required to collect a minimum of $1,000 in donations and passengers are also encouraged to collect donations. The 2023 Kids Cancer Care Ride for a Lifetime will be held from June 23rd to 25th from Calgary into the heart of the Kootenays of BC. Departure is planned for early Friday morning, rain or shine, with the first evening stay at the Ramada by Wyndham in Creston, BC. Day-two will be an amazing experience for riders as they take in some of the best roads Western Canada and ending up for the evening at the Big White Resort in Kelowna; where they’ll enjoy a wonderful banquet, complete with entertainment and silent auction. On Sunday June 25th, riders are on their own to head back home, or off to their next destination. Please remember that each rider is responsible to raise a minimum of $1000.00 in donations over and above their registration fee. ACKNOWLEDGMENT AND ASSUMPTION OF RISKS
AND AGREEMENTS OF RELEASE AND INDEMNIFICATION - 2023
In consideration of the Kids Cancer Care Foundation of Alberta (the “KCC”) permitting me to participate in its Ride for a Lifetime event from June 23rd to 25th, 2023  inclusive and any and all activities that are in any way associated with the event (collectively the “Event”), I understand, acknowledge and agree as follows:

1.	KCC and its respective directors, employees, volunteers, and participants (collectively the “Organization”) is not responsible for any injury, personal injury, damage, property damage, expense, loss of income or loss of any kind suffered by me, during, or as a result of, or in any way in connection with the Event, caused by the risks, dangers and hazards associated with the Event, or caused in any manner by the Organization, including without limiting the foregoing, by the gross negligence of the Organization.

2.	I am participating voluntarily in the Event. In consideration of my participation in the Event, I hereby acknowledge that I am aware of the risks, dangers and hazards associated with or related to the Event and that I may be exposed to such risks, dangers and hazards. The risks, dangers and hazards include, but are not limited to, injuries from: a) The activity of motorcycle riding; b) Executing strenuous and demanding physical activity through the process of handling a bike; c) injuries from the negligence of other participants or other persons; d) Mounting, dismounting or falling off a motorcycle; e) Falling, tumbling or hitting any ground, surface, concrete, road, track or other surfaces; f) Failure to properly use any equipment, the mechanical failure of any piece of equipment or inadequate safety equipment, improper maintenance or adjustment of equipment; h) Contact, collisions or being struck by other participants, pedestrians, fixed objects, equipment, vehicles, birds, or animals; i) Road conditions, terrains and vehicular traffic or uneven or irregular terrain, roads, or surfaces while riding; j) Extreme weather and temperature conditions which may result in dehydration, heatstroke, sunstroke or hypothermia, or poor road conditions; k) Spinal cord injuries which may render me permanently paralyzed; and l) injuries that may result in death.

3.	Furthermore, I am aware: a) That injuries sustained can be severe; b) That I may experience anxiety while challenging myself during the Event; c) That my risk of injury is reduced if I follow all rules established for participation; and d) That my risk of injury increases as I become fatigued.

4.	In consideration of the Organization allowing me to participate, I agree and confirm: a) That my physical condition has been verified by a medical doctor to participate in the Event, or that I am aware of no risk factor in connection with my physical condition; b) That the sole responsibility for my safety remains with me, including physical and emotional preparation and fitness; c) To discontinue participation if I sense or observe any unusual hazard or unsafe condition; or feel unable or unfit to safely continue; d) To ASSUME all risks arising out of, associated with or related to my participation; e) To WAIVE any and all claims that I may have now or in the future against the Organization; f) To freely ACCEPT AND FULLY ASSUME all such risks and possibility of personal injury, death, property damage, expense and related loss, including loss of income, resulting from my participation in the Event; and g) For myself, my heirs, executors, administrators and assigns forever and irrevocably release, discharge and covenant not to sue the Organization from any and all liability for any and all claims, demands, actions, damages (including direct, indirect, special or consequential), losses, actions, judgments, and costs (including legal fees on a full indemnity basis) (collectively, the “Claims”) which I may have now or in the future, that might arise out of, result from, or relate to my participation in the Event, regardless of how such Claims may arise, including but not limited to, the negligence, gross negligence, negligent rescue, omissions, carelessness, breach of contract or breach of any duty of care by the Organization.

5.	 I hereby assume all risk and, to the fullest extent allowable by law, it is my intent that by assuming such risks I relieve the Organization from any duty to protect me from such risks. Understanding the nature of cycling, risks and possible losses or outcomes, and acknowledging that the risks described are inherent in cycling, and that other risks may exist, I nevertheless assume all such risks, inherent or otherwise, whether or not described above, and voluntarily choose to participate in the Event.  

6.	I hereby agree further to defend, indemnify and save harmless (that is, defend and protect by payment or reimbursement, including full indemnity legal fees and costs) the Organization from any claim of loss which may be brought by any other participant in the Event, including a member of my family or any other person (a “Third Party”), arising out of or caused in whole or in part by my acts or omissions. I further agree to indemnify and save harmless the Organization from any claim of loss brought by a Third Party, arising out of a loss suffered by me.

7.	I hereby agree, acknowledge, and represent to the Organization that, in participating in the Event, I will fully inform myself as to, and will fully comply with, all applicable laws, rules, regulations, guidelines, and recommendations including without limiting the foregoing in relation to the use of public highways and roadways and in relation to the COVID-19 pandemic.

8.	This document shall be governed and interpreted in accordance with the laws of the Province of Alberta, and I hereby attorn irrevocably to the Courts of the Province of Alberta for any dispute arising from or in connection with the Event.

9.	If any portion of this agreement is deemed unenforceable by a court of law, the remaining portions will remain binding and enforceable. 

I HEREBY DECLARE THAT I HAVE CAREFULLY READ AND UNDERSTAND THIS DOCUMENT AND HAVE VOLUNTARILY SIGNED IT TO REFLECT MY FULL AGREEMENT TO ITS TERMS.
