St. James City Civic Association had tremendous damage from Hurricane Ian and only had liability insurance.  The repairs needed include roofs for the all of the buildings on the property, flooring, lanai replaced, furniture, commercial kitchen appliances, paint and landscaping.  Our 60th anniversary is approaching and the building needs all of these repairs to continue for another 60 years and leave a legacy for the future.  It has a beautiful greenspace with a playground, exercise equipment, shuffleboard courts and a stage for outdoor concerts.  Our facility can be rented for a reasonable price for events from a baby shower to concerts.  We also hold activities for the community which are on hold until we can make this building habitable again.  Post hurricane we found a way to open the doors to provide emergency relief including food, clothing, cleaning supplies, tarps and water to local residents.
