Life is a long journey and as we navigate the winding roads, missteps can happen that take us in the wrong direction and have us suddenly facing a crisis. But a journey of a thousand miles begins always with a single step. Even the smallest actions are steps in the right direction which might mean you need to stop for directions and advice to get back on the right path.

That’s where Inn from the Cold comes in to step-up for families and children facing a housing crisis, providing them with the resources they need to find their footing through transitional times and continue their journey with confidence.

That’s why we are encouraging Calgarian’s everywhere to step-up and help end family homelessness this April.

On Sunday, April 24, join Inn from the Cold at the McHugh Bluff stairs in Crescent Heights for the 11th annual Steps to End Homelessness. We are challenging you to take that uphill climb on behalf of vulnerable families in need of support to get back on the path to housing independence.

We hope you will join us for this family-friendly challenge. After you complete your steps all participants will be able to join us for a BBQ and family fun carnival! There are also some fun prizes to be won. 

How to get started

1. Recruit your team of friends and family to take the challenge with you. You can also take the challenge on your own.
2. Click the registration button on the right hand side to get started. Once you complete your registration you will be able to set up your fundraising page as an individual, team or you can join an existing team. 
3. Pick your challenge and pledge to make a difference to vulnerable families by choosing an impactful fundraising target. Note that donations will be matched by the Power of One Foundation, so $1 raised = $2!! 
4. Join us on April 24 to take on your steps challenge or complete your challenge on your own throughout the month of April.

About Steps to End Homelessness 

Steps to End Homelessness was founded in 2009 by community advocate Suzanne West -- born out of her desire to change the world and her commitment to advocate for the less fortunate. Suzanne’s passion and determination to end child and family homelessness was contagious and tireless.

Steps to End Homelessness has been one of Inn from the Cold’s largest fundraising events. Now hosted by Inn from the Cold, the event is held in Suzanne’s memory, with donations matched by Power of One Foundation -- Suzanne’s charitable foundation now operated by her family.
