Crazy! Not sure about you, but we believe that it's time for widespread response with public education.  At NaloxHome, we think that drug education (with naloxone training!) should have been happening in high schools a loooooong time ago. And while there have been SOME efforts to curb drug use in youth, (hint: "just say no!") this clearly is not working. Here prevails the need for NaloxHome Society: youth-to-youth, harm reduction led, science-backed drug education.  People have always used drugs. People use drugs for many, many reasons: recreationally, medicinally, therapeutically, and the list goes on. But nobody deserves to die as a result of drug poisoning. Especially when there are tools available for everyone to access, that can prevent some of the harms associated with substance use. We show ALL youth (not just the ones labelled "high risk") the harm reduction that they can use to keep themselves, their loved ones, and fellow community members safe and alive.   Your Donation Will Help Us By...- Expanding the reach of our drug education program! We're currently comfortably servicing Metro Vancouver, but we have our sights set on expansion to Vancouver Island, Northern BC, and Interior BC ;)- Keeping our program free! Our workshops are volunteer-run, and cost teachers/schools NOTHING to have us in. Makes sense -- nobody should have to PAY for drug education! However, we take great care of our volunteers, we use up-to-date demos, we hire amazing contractors, and all of this costs money. YOUR donation will ensure that MORE students can accessibly receive our workshops!- Empowering youth. Everyone on our team is 18-25 years of age, and we're building essential life skills while contributing to our community with compassion.
