A community comes together, sharing not just food but hope and health. Our weekly food pantry serves 400 participants, many of whom face immense challenges: 90% are over 65, most are immigrants, and nearly all live under the shadow of food insecurity. Yet, they leave with more than just groceries—they leave with dignity, support, and the nutrition they need to fight for their health.<h3>The Health Reality: Why Your Support Matters</h3>The individuals we serve are not just hungry—they’re battling life-altering conditions. Among our 400 participants:<ul><li style="box-sizing:inherit">Hypertension affects 300-340 individuals—more than three-quarters of our community. Without access to nutritious food, managing their blood pressure is nearly impossible.</li><li style="box-sizing:inherit">Cancer impacts 60-80 individuals, who rely on the pantry for fresh produce and proteins to support their treatment and recovery.</li><li style="box-sizing:inherit">Asthma debilitates 80-120 individuals, many of whom are already vulnerable to poor air quality and stress-related triggers.</li></ul>The consequences of limited food access ripple through their lives. Malnutrition worsens their health conditions, leading to increased hospital visits, lower quality of life, and even shortened life spans.
