Please help us with Jazzy&#39;s recovery! This 6yo registered TN Walking Horse mare was being used as a broodmare when her owner died and she was left with a young foal by her side starving. A well-meaning private party stepped in and tried to save her, but she just continued to lose weight. Unfortunately, this person had neither the means or the knowledge to care for this mare. She posted an ad on a South Carolina Craigslist page titled &quot;Broodmare for Rendering or Rehabilitation&quot;. Within an hour or so of the post hitting CraigsList it was sent to Gaited Advocate Intervention Team, Inc. by a loyal supporter who offered to pay the purchase price if we could help.&nbsp; GAIT, Inc. mobilized immediately, starting with a carefully worded plea to the seller asking how we could help and would she let us purchase the mare. We followed with a search for a rescue we could work with in the area, knowing there was no way this mare would be healthy enough to make a 10-hour trailer ride to Maryland. Within a couple hours, the seller was so inundated with scathing comments that she took the post down. Thankfully, she contacted us and we began the process of getting this mare safe to the rescue. After almost a month of back and forth with the seller, we were finally able to get the seller meet us with the mare - she refused to allow anyone to come onto her property to pick up Jazzy. Evidently there is also domestic abuse involved in this case, so before you judge, just remember, none of us can know what someone else is going through in their lives.&nbsp; Thanks to Wandering Hearts Rescue in NC, who offered to meet the seller and begin her rehab to get her stabilized for the trip to Maryland once she&#39;s healthy enough. They have been instrumental in helping make this save a reality!&nbsp; Now we need help from our supporters. This is going to be a costly endeavor! The refeeding is going to take months if there are no underlying health conditions. Vet bills will be rolling in, feed bills will not be cheap, specialized care is needed.
