Join us in our effort to build an outpost of Christendom amidst our civilizational ruins
Our Mission
The mission of Pascua is to provide a safe haven where Christian culture can take root and thrive. Our aim is to found a settlement modeled on the principles of traditional urban development for the purpose of fostering a thriving and robust Catholic life and culture through the integration of New Urbanism, agrarianism, a strong local economy, the liberal arts, historical rootedness, the traditional Roman rite and a hearty and spirited observance of the Church’s liturgical calendar.
Preserving The Flame Of Christendom
The name Pascua is a homage to our Spanish and Christian roots. Pascua Florida, meaning flowery Easter, was the name our Catholic forebears gave our state upon first sighting her shores on Easter Sunday, 1513. We take this name for our settlement as a reminder of our birthright as heirs of Hispania and of Christendom.

The Land
We are currently raising funds in order to acquire the land needed to launch the project. We have targeted a collection of over 400 acres in an undisclosed location of northern Florida, near the St Johns River, that we hope will serve as the site of our new settlement. We are attempting to negotiate a purchase.
Development Plan
The development plan will be guided by the principles of traditional urban development. This will be fundamental to creating the kind of human-scale environment, once common to all past generations, in which one could walk a few minutes down the street to go to the grocer, school, work, church, etc.
The community will be composed of several small neighborhoods or hamlets within an agricultural setting. A central church located in what will become the development’s urban center (which will itself constitute its own more populated and more characteristically urban neighborhood) will be encompassed by the various aforementioned peripheral neighborhoods and agricultural land that together would form the village or small town.
In addition to our Spanish patrimony, Pascua will also seek to honor and celebrate Florida’s Southern heritage and culture. For this reason the architecture of the buildings will consist of both Spanish and old Florida vernacular styles, e.g. Spanish-style central plaza (plaza mayor) and church, as well as both Spanish and Florida cracker-style homes all built using traditional methods of construction – in many ways resembling Saint Augustine, Florida.
Affordability & Economic Vitality
Providing home and business site affordability and working towards a strong local economy are integral to Pascua’s mission. We therefore aim to make, and keep, Pascua affordable. We propose to do this by offering interest-free financing options for families and entrepreneurs, disincentivizing resale, and incentivizing the creation of small businesses through the Community Land Trust structure.
Not For Profit
Pascua Community Land Trust, Inc., is a nonprofit organization that is currently filing for tax-exempt status. All donations will go towards the funding of the project, with the primary aim at the moment being to secure the initial land purchase.
How you can help us in our mission:
- Donate: We are engaged in a formidable undertaking requiring much work, sacrifice and funds. We need your help. Every dollar counts.
- Share: Share our campaign with friends and family as well as with anyone you believe may feel passionately about our mission.
- Join us: We are looking for farmers, tradesmen, small business owners, educators and anyone who believes that they would be able to make a significant contribution to the founding and development of Pascua as a strong, spiritually flourishing and economically viable community.
Thank you for supporting us in our mission. Viva Cristo Rey!
