May is ALS Awareness Month and there are some really great organizations that support people with ALS. One such organization is The Medical Loan Closet of Joplin--its mission is to offer medical and safety equipment so that a person can remain in their home. Many people seek safety and medical equipment for a variety of reasons, not just ALS patients. For example, during a surgery recovery, a permanent disability or a terminal illness. The safety and medical equipment varies from a single cane to a complete hospital bed, with many items in between. The equipment is for all ages, from children to the elderly. People seek out the Medical Loan Closet when insurance will not cover the safety or medical equipment and/or when the cost will become a financial burden.The Medical Loan Closet has outgrown its original space due to the demands of the area. The closet is in need of donations to support rent and staff pay. Please won't you donate so that others can benefit from remaining in their home safely?
