Chappaquiddick-That Sometimes Separated But Never Equalled Island By: Harriet Potter

A Martha's Vineyard & Chappy Sketchbook is a beautifully packaged collection of small watercolor drawings of the two islands off the coast of Massachusetts with accompanying quotes from well-known Island personalities about what makes Martha's Vineyard and Chappaquiddick so beloved. Gail, a Chappy seasonal resident, spent one summer traveling around the Island and capturing the images that make the Vineyard the Vineyard. From kids leaping off the bridge to the stone walls of Chilmark, the drawings are all small gems. Since she is from Chappaquiddick, she includes several pages of sketches about her own little island. Gail asked 28 Vineyarders to respond to the question, What is one thing you love or value about Martha's Vineyard? Their thoughtful answers add an extra layer that completes this love letter to the Vineyard. The book is enclosed in a slipcase.

Don McLagan is an entrepreneur and a poet. He is the author of two previous
books of poetry, Fragments in a Glass Bowl and Tug at the Knot. His poems have
appeared in Boston.com, Cleaveland House Poets: 50 Years, the Martha’s Vineyard
Collective: New Poems 2013, the Martha’s Vineyard Times, and the Vineyard Gazette. In the tech world, he has been a founder and executive in five companies in the Boston area. Don lives and writes in Chappaquiddick and Sarasota, FL.

Chappaquiddick, an island a few hundred feet from the bigger island of Martha's Vineyard, is a universe of its own. Like other precious places near the sea, it is a joining of elemental things—marshes, beaches, water, and sky—a realm whose beauty spans all seasons.
Morning Shore captures in both words and photos this love of place. It is a seasonal recounting of this special environment matched with lyrics, poems, and prose.

You have never seen a lighthouse book like this. Photographer Alison Shaw captures the lighthouses of Marthas Vineyard, Nantucket, and Cape Cod in a distinctive and beautiful style. The book includes an introduction by a lighthouse historian, tips on seeing the lighthouses, and historical facts about lighthouses that you'll find nowhere else. This is a combination art book and practical guide.
