Welding – Cadets will learn the basics of SMAW stick welding, GMAW wire welding, and GTAW aluminum welding processes. This includes shop and equipment safety, equipment setup, basic schematics, symbols and of course, welding. Course instructed by North Central Texas College (NCTC) certified welding instructor using welding technology facilities at NCTC. Cadets will spend approximately 90% of training hands on.
This hands-on training introduces cadets to the fundamentals of residential electrical and plumbing systems. Working under supervision, cadets will learn basic construction techniques and apply them through practical building projects.
Cadets will receive instruction in:
Electrical Installation
Plumbing Installation
Throughout the training, cadets will also learn essential construction safety practices, equipment setup, and basic construction procedures.
As part of the practical portion of the course, cadets will work together to construct three separate 4' x 8' rooms, installing the electrical and plumbing systems required to make them functional. The rooms will ultimately be connected structurally, electrically, and through their plumbing systems, giving cadets the opportunity to see how these systems integrate in a real construction project.
This training provides cadets with hands-on experience, teamwork opportunities, and an introduction to skills used in the construction trades.
This course will teach the basics of robotics theory, robotic components, application, and programming. This includes shop and equipment safety, robotics setup, basic schematics, symbols, and lab projects. SeaPerch and one other robotics kit will be constructed/built.
