The Avalon Academy:We are dedicated to providing exceptional educational services to students with movement disorders such as cerebral palsy. Our highly skilled team of physical therapists, speech-language pathologists, special education teachers, orientation and mobility specialists, vision teachers, occupational therapists, nurses, and instructional assistants create individualized and interdisciplinary plans for each student, delivering classes and services in a nurturing environment, and integrating communication, academics, and motor-skill development. We abide by one primary goal: for all students to achieve their maximum personal potential such that they can thrive in both school and society. Stanbridge Academy is a caring, inclusive K-12 school for students with mild to moderate learning differences and social communication disorders. &nbsp;We teach standards-based curriculum at all grade levels; our small class sizes allow for individualized instruction and the use of integrated assistive technology. On-staff counselors and speech and language therapists help students develop executive functioning and social thinking skills, and we offer a full complement of arts, athletics, and enrichment programs, as well as a postsecondary transitions program to prepare high school graduates for college, job replacement, and independent living.
