For over 30 years, APHIDS has been a vital, artist-led engine for experimental art in Naarm/Melbourne and across the globe. Spanning performance, moving image and public interventions, our work is unapologetically political, feminist, intersectional and humorous. We focus on the social impacts of art, bringing artists and non-artists into meaningful, unpredictable encounters with audiences in the public realm. We believe in placing artistic practice at the centre of all that we do. While government grants form our structural foundation, it is the generosity of our community that allows us to commission new work and maintain our independence.
