Bold white and red text requesting donations for the 10th Palestine Cultural Festival overlays a crowded outdoor night scene with people gathered in front of a modern building.

For ten years, Palestine Cultural Festival (formerly Palestine National Day) has brought Palestinian culture, heritage and identity to the heart of Melbourne. This year marks the 10th edition, and we want to make it one of the most meaningful yet: a day where Palestinian food, music, dabke, tatreez, art and storytelling come together, giving thousands of people the chance to experience a piece of Palestine at Fed Square. For the second year, the Australian Arab Institute for Culture and Ideas has partnered with Palestine Cultural Festival and is supporting its cultural work through this fund. But putting on an event of this scale has become more challenging. The cost of delivering the festival has risen significantly, while sponsorship and grants have declined. Palestine Cultural Festival is a Palestinian organisation, and securing corporate sponsorship has become difficult. Some businesses are cautious about supporting a Palestinian cultural event, despite the festival being a community-led, family-friendly celebration that is open to everyone. So this year, we are turning to the community. We are asking for your help to make the 10th Palestine Cultural Festival happen.Every contribution, big or small, helps us create a platform for Palestinian culture, support Palestinian artists and performers, bring our community together, and share our heritage with the wider Australian community. For Palestinians, the festival is a chance to reconnect with home, heritage and each other. For many others, it is their first opportunity to experience Palestinian culture up close. For one day, Fed Square feels a little like Palestine. If this festival means something to you, or if you believe Palestinian culture deserves a place to be celebrated, shared and passed on, we would be incredibly grateful for your support.
