💔 UPDATE — HOPE & PHOENIXIt is with absolutely broken hearts that we share that both of our tiny puppies, Hope and Phoenix, passed away this morning. 🌈🐾When this little brother and sister were surrendered into the care of Diamond in the Ruff Rescue, we were initially told they were approximately 8 weeks old. Veterinary assessment suggested they may have been closer to just 6 weeks old, and they were far more unwell than anyone initially realised. Both puppies were emaciated and severely dehydrated and required immediate hospitalisation. They were suffering from multiple health problems, including infection, anaemia, ear mites and ear infections, worms and widespread infected pustules across their tiny bodies. Blood tests also showed significant abnormalities, and their kidneys were struggling. They received IV fluids, IV antibiotics, medication, blood tests, imaging and hospital care while the veterinary team did everything possible to give them a chance.Sadly, despite everyone's efforts, Phoenix deteriorated and passed away, and this morning we also lost our beautiful little Hope.We desperately wanted to be updating this fundraiser with good news. Instead, we are grieving two tiny lives that ended far too soon.💔 Our veterinary bill for Hope and Phoenix is $3,295.68.Although we couldn't save them, the cost of fighting for them remains with Diamond in the Ruff Rescue.Every donation already received helped us give Hope and Phoenix the veterinary care and chance they deserved. To everyone who donated, shared their story, sent messages or simply hoped and prayed alongside us — thank you.If you would still like to donate, your contribution will now go directly towards paying the veterinary costs incurred trying to save Hope and Phoenix. We don't regret trying. We don't regret the hospitalisation, the tests, the medication or a single dollar spent giving these babies a chance. They came into our care desperately sick, but they left this world knowing warmth, kindness, comfort and love.Diamond in the Ruff Rescue is a small, volunteer-run NSW rescue and ACNC-registered charity. We don't have a shelter and rely heavily on the generosity of our community to continue helping dogs in need.If you can't donate, please consider sharing their story.🌈 Hope & Phoenix Together forever. Forever loved. Never forgotten. 💗💙🐾Thank you for helping us fight for them. ❤️
