What can you expect at the Open Day?The Open Day is more than an information session. It&rsquo;s an opportunity to see cadet training in action, meet members of the unit and find out what becoming a cadet involves. 🎯&nbsp;Field Skills in Action See cadets put their fieldcraft, teamwork and communication skills into action during a controlled field demonstration using gel blasters and training smoke to create an engaging training scenario. 🧭&nbsp;Discover Cadet Training Get a taste of the skills developed through recruit training, including navigation, drill, first aid, fieldcraft and cadet knowledge. 🎒&nbsp;See the Equipment Learn more about the equipment and uniform cadets use and what new cadets are issued when they join. 👨&zwj;👩&zwj;👧&nbsp;Parent &amp; Prospective Cadet Information Session Parents, guardians and prospective cadets can learn about the joining process, fees, uniforms, issued equipment, additional items you may need to purchase and what to expect during recruit training. 💬&nbsp;Ask Us Questions Joining cadets is a big step, and we want families to have the information they need. There will be opportunities to ask questions and find out whether cadets is right for you. 🚀 At the Open Day, you&rsquo;ll have an opportunity to learn more about the recruit course, meet members of the unit and discover where the cadet experience can take you. FAQ:How long does the recruit course take? The recruit course runs for one school semester. During this time, new cadets work through their initial training and develop foundational skills in areas such as drill, navigation, first aid, fieldcraft and cadet knowledge.
