She is 16 years old, and already a leader in her community of Ojo de Agua. Many Mayan women in rural communities of Guatemala, like Juana, face barriers to continuing education beyond 6th grade. Juana has fought hard for her dreams and is now in her final year of secondary school. She plans to one day become a nurse.
