About the Centre de pédiatrie sociale de Gatineau
The Centre de pédiatrie sociale de Gatineau was born from the desire of Dr. Anne-Marie Bureau and a group of committed individuals to offer a new form of integrated social medicine to the most vulnerable children in the community.
Inspired by Dr. Julien, Dr. Bureau opened her first social pediatrics center on Notre-Dame Street in Gatineau in 2009. In 2015, following the mobilization of the business community, a second center was opened in the Vieux-Hull sector.
The mission of the Centre de pédiatrie sociale de Gatineau is to provide care for children living in vulnerable situations by building on their strengths in order to provide them with the best possible care so that they can develop to their fullest potential in accordance with the Convention on the Rights of the Child.
Offering a community based clinical practice, the Centre de pédiatrie sociale de Gatineau believes in sharing power with families and significant others in a respectful and dignified manner while promoting the rights of children.
