We will continue our campaigns to improve Employment Standards and Social Assistance such as making the minimum wage a living wage (average of $20/h across the province) and ensuring the basic rate for social assistance recipients reflects the current cost of living and is adjusted accordingly every year. <span style="font-size:11pt;font-family:Arial;color:rgb(0, 0, 0);background-color:transparent;font-weight:400;font-style:normal;font-variant:normal;text-decoration:none;vertical-align:baseline;white-space:pre-wrap;box-sizing:inherit">The Common Front is everybody’s front in a struggle for better wages, and working and living conditions for those on social assistance or employment insurance. Through a combination of lobbying work with elected officials, and public awareness campaigns through the media or on the streets, we will continue to do this work.
