The NB Common Front for Social Justice has been advocating for people living in poverty and low-wage earners for over 25 years. It has been a strong voice for change over the years, achieved minimum wage increases and won a crucial victory around wage exemptions for people on social assistance, but we need your support in order to continue in our mission to advocate for a more just province. We will continue our campaigns to improve Employment Standards and Social Assistance such as making the minimum wage a living wage (average of $20/h across the province) and ensuring the basic rate for social assistance recipients reflects the current cost of living and is adjusted accordingly every year.
The Common Front is everybody’s front in a struggle for better wages, and working and living conditions for those on social assistance or employment insurance. Through a combination of lobbying work with elected officials, and public awareness campaigns through the media or on the streets, we will continue to do this work. But the passion of volunteers can only get us so far - we need resources in order to have an office and a staff person in charge of coordinating our work across the province.
Can we count on you to make a $25 contribution to the Common Front?
