This tax deductable donation will help a lot to achieve the Orillia Concert Band's mission of bringing live concert band music to Orilla and Area.
There are a lot of hidden costs associated with putting on a performance for the public! Beyond the day of concert hall rental, sound and light technicians, camera operators, guest artist fees, etc., there are the ongoing costs of running a large volunteer band, which include rehearsal hall rental, music costs, insurance, percussion storage rental, music director fees and much more. Your donation will assist greatly in offsetting all these costs.
The Orillia Concert Band members and the band's executive are all volunteers and receive no compensation. In fact the band members each pay $200 a year to help offset the cost of running the band and help keep concert tickets affordable. The only paid member of the band is the music director (which is normal for community bands), and is required to attract a director who can challenge the band and develop them musically - to the benefit of the community!
The Orillia Concert Band is a registered non-profit charity that also gives back to the community by putting on charity concerts for other non-profit groups and provides modest scholarships for deserving musical students to aid them in their musical development.
