As the pandemic restrictions lift, our hearts are lighter knowing we will be able to hug our friends and family once again. Yet we find ourselves in the ‘pandemic following the pandemic’ as we experience a mental health crisis like we have never seen before.You have seen personally how the pandemic is taking an emotional toll – 8 of 10 Canadians are feeling ‘worried or anxious,’ ‘bored,’ ‘stressed,’ ‘lonely or isolated’ and ‘sad’.Overall, 41% report a decline in their mental health since the onset of the pandemic, compared to 38% in the spring and 40% in the fall of last year. The decline is more pronounced in people who are unemployed due to COVID (61%), those with a pre-existing mental health condition (54%), who are aged 18-24 (50%), students (48%), who have a disability (47%) or identify as LGBTQ2+ (46%).We have so much work to do and we will get through this, together.As an ambassador for mental health, you will provide access to free mental health programs so seniors, adults, children and youth living with mental health challenges can have ‘unashamed’ conversations and learn how to develop coping skills and build resiliency.You can create a mentally health community today. Your donation has a significant impact on a child, a senior, an adult's ability to live a mentally healthy life.  Because of you: - Parents living with a mental illness have time for self care and respite knowing that their kids have free access to programs where they build resiliency, social and coping skills - and have fun!- Kids living with mental health challenges have barrier free access to activity based programs in a safe and supportive environment - transportation, meals and activities are available at no cost to the families.- High school students learn how to facilitate mental health literacy programs for youth in grades 6/7, understanding how to speak about feelings in a safe, respectful way.- Chinese seniors living in isolation come together to learn new activities, meet others and attend free wellness seminars on mental health.- Adults living with OCD attend free group sessions with counselors, psychologists and medical professionals learning how to build resiliency and manage their own mental health.You are an ambassador and a champion to all of us who are challenged with mental health issues.  Thank you.
