From July 31st through August 6th, a team of three cyclists from Chateauguay will be pedaling their way to Boston raising funds and awareness for the Horizon Center, a community organization which offers services to special needs children, adults and their families. They will cover over 600kms on their touring bikes loaded with baggage over a 6-day period. These cycling enthusiasts had the wonderful idea to raise funds for the Horizon Center, in order to purchase a wheelchair access bicycle (Van Raam VeloPlus - YouTube ), worth $15,000 for the patrons. This specially adapted bike will enable the frequenters of Horizon to have the thrill and freedom of biking anytime they wish with their loved ones. For most, this will be a new experience. Any supplemental funds received will be used to purchase adapted rocking chairs that the patrons can use on a daily basis, which cost approximately $2,000 per chair. It is thanks to the initiative of Glen, Isabelle and Stéphanie that we can offer such an experience to our clientele.
