<div>Our names are Falis Amir and Olivia Caravaggio and we have started a fundraiser for our friend Ola who is currently experiencing hell on Earth in occupied Palestine. We are humbly asking that you donate if you have the means to – no amount is “too small”. Please also share this link with your community and together, we can help alleviate Ola’s stress. Like other similar fundraisers, the money raised will go to providing food for Ola and her family. Here is her story:   Ola Ahmed Ali Hammad is a 24-year-old ambitious, sweet young woman who, like many Palestinians, loves life and her homeland. After the tragic Nakba of 1948, she and her family settled down in Northern Gaza. There, she graduated 2 years ago and was on the road to achieving her dreams of becoming a beautician. She lived in Northern Gaza with her 2 parents, her grandfather, 1 sister and 5 brothers.   Ola's grandfather, who was named Ali Hammad survived the Nakba of 1948. After the attacks of Oct 7th, the neighbouring houses in Northern Gaza were demolished by the IOF. Ali Hammad was martyred from the smell of gas and from white phosphorous which is restricted under international humanitarian law.  A few weeks ago, Ola, her mother, sister and brothers had lost contact with their father and one brother for 10 days. Not knowing what happened to them, and constantly fearing for their safety. One day while Ola was on Instagram (which she has a weak access to and is only able to use it by using solar energy to charge her phone battery), she came across the disturbing reel of several Palestinian hostages who were stripped down to their underwear’s, kneeling in the cold and blindfolded. In this startling image, she was able to find her older brother and her father. In the video posted on Instagram, her father was singled out of the bunch and interrogated by the IOF. Ola and the other families have no way to communicate with their loved ones even after all this time. With her older brother and father gone, Ola has assumed the responsibility of providing for her family as they are displaced In southern Rafah.  To give you an idea of the inflation of necessities like food, here are the abnormally high prices: $1 USD = $3.68 shekels. The price of chicken is $75 shekels. The price of 1 kilo of meat is $110 shekels.  Ola, like many other Palestinian families stand in lines for hours in hopes to return to their tents with some food. More importantly than rebuilding her home that was demolished by the IOF, her hope is to provide daily meals for her family with your kind donations.  Before the war, their minds understood their tragic lives, but now their minds are unable to comprehend the things that have been happening. Murder, devastation, poverty, hunger are all things too great for the human mind to comprehend.  According to WHO (World Health Organization), 95% of households are limiting meals and portion sizes, with 64% of households eating only one meal a day. WHO also reported that 95% of households said they had restricted the amount of food adults received in order to ensure small children had food to eat.  An immediate and sustainable ceasefire is what we are still demanding.  Thank you all for your time and your generosity. </div>
