Our very first charitable campaign is called "Uplift Our Police Giving Campaign"

Dr. Tam Pozzobon of Royal Roads University is applying for an internal grant to fund a literature review. Her questions on behalf of C-CPR are:  

• What information did governments in any jurisdiction use to inform their policy related to policing?  

• What academic work, consultant’s reports or internal perspectives of public servants did government’s consider and what did they hope to achieve with legislative action?

C-CPR has committed to matching the grant from Royal Roads U. Successful funding will enable Dr. Pozzobon to employ a Masters student to answer the questions above.  We need to raise $2500 and with your help we can do so.  Those of you who have met Dr. Pozzobon will know she is highly motivated to help her previous profession of policing move to new heights.  She was awarded the Order of Merit (M.O.M.) in honour of her successful career in Calgary.

Now you may have some doubt about this gift?  How could these questions be important to C-CPR?  But really they are because one of the ways of creating a "College of Policing for Canadians" could involve legislation.  And thus the understanding of why governments have amended policing legislation that affected police training is important for us. Knowledge is our ammunition.  Everything we say and do at C-CPR is informed by evidence!
