It costs approximately $100 per day to feed the approximately 250 dogs living at Funkytown. Your contribution allows us to provide financial relief to The Dog-Go Project and Funkytown Shelter who are on the frontlines each and every day advocating and caring for street dogs in Mexico. We do this by securing large quantities of food from suppliers and distributors at a significantly discounted rate. Why fundraise for food? Food may seem like such an easy thing for a shelter to take care of—and in many cases it is. But by taking care of that cost, shelters can take that saved money and put it where it's needed - medicines, surgeries, facility costs and emergencies.Out of the 250 dogs at Funkytown, approximately 100 are considered long-term residents. These dogs, while so deserving of their chance at a forever home, are either too ill, in their senior years and/or are extremely terrified of humans. The best thing for them is to remain in the safe, loving care of The Dog-Go Project and Funkytown, who will bear all costs to ensure they receive everything they need for the rest of their days. This is where you can help! For $200, you can sponsor a long-term resident and guarantee them two meals a day for a year! That's 50 cents per day; a quarter per meal. The Meals team is thrilled to have your support in our ongoing efforts to support our rescue partners in Mexico.
