This donation will help a lot to achieve our mission. We'll be able to :- Rehabilitate the roof structure- Implement solutions for an end-of-life heating system- Ensure potable water in the building- Restore the building's more than 40 historic windows and doors- Repair and paint the exterior wood siding- Enable us to temporarily relocate operations during renovations- Enable us to take our school programs on the road while the museum in inaccessible The preservation of Winnipeg's oldest building (c. 1846-51) will ensure that the museum will continue to be accessible to our community for your school programs, for showcasing to your friends and family who are from out of town, exhibiting artifacts from our important francophone and métis histories, discovering the various education and health endeavors the nuns had in our community, including the relevant topic of reconciliation. This site, know as the Grey Nuns' Convent has three levels of historical designation: national (1958), provincial (1991) and municipal (1995).  It is operated as Le Musée de Saint-Boniface Museum by a municipally appointed board of directors.
