Meet Harley!!  Harley was rescued after being hit by a car at the age of only 7-8 months, back at the end of November, in Matamoros, Mexico. This was only a few days after my own medical foster, Huxley, passed away unexpectedly. An online friend was working hard to network for a rescue to help Harley, but without any luck. 😞 when I saw Harley's x-rays and recognized some similarities between her injuries and Hux', I felt like it was fate, somehow. I couldn't say no to such a sweet, gentle soul with so much life yet to live!  Harley was in the care of a vet in Matamoros for some time, but we know a very experienced, trustworthy orthopedic vet further west that we wanted her to see. With the help of our friends at Paws Without Borders (a rescue in Tucson) and Vidas Con Causa (a rescue in Hermosillo), after transporting Harley west, she got to visit this wonderful clinic on Monday, March 13th. They have a very optimistic prognosis for her!  Harley will stay in the care of our Mexican rescue partner so that this vet clinic can follow her and ensure her mobility progresses in the right direction, as she walks stiffly, slowly and cautiously (with good reason!)... Not to worry: her pain is also being managed and she's becoming more puppy-like each day!  We are raising money to help with Harley's expenses for vet care and transport so far. If you are willing to help, it would be greatly appreciated! Every dollar is greatly appreciated. We're so excited to get Harley on her way to her second chance, just as Clover did.  So far, here is what we need to raise for Harley's care: - $39 USD (vaccines and treatment) - $390 USD (transport from Brownsville TX to Hermosillo, MX) - $43 USD (new x-rays done) - $146 USD (food) ($618 USD is equivalent to $845 CAD) This does not include other care that was fundraised for by Jaime, my rescue networker friend (those fees are already paid!), and there will be additional fees to pay for her vet follow ups down the line In loving memory of both Huxley and Clover. 🌈❤️🍀
