How Does It Work? Winnipeg West Rotary Club partners with Principal Sparling School and donates Chicken Fest tickets to the school to be used as an incentive for their students for some form of community or scholastic achievement. The details of the exact program are left to the design of the school administration. The Chicken Fest Committee has guaranteed to donate a minimum of 230 tickets to the school. The Chicken Fest Committee’s goal is to meet or exceed that guarantee by soliciting donations to purchase additional tickets for the “at-risk” children and their families. On May 8th (Chicken Fest Day) just before noon, Chicken Fest volunteer drivers deliver bulk food (Chicken, soft drinks, dinner rolls & ice-cream) to the school in time for lunch. Please note that this date may change depending on the needs of the school. What Can You Do? You and/or your Chicken Fest customers can donate a portion of your allotted Chicken Fest tickets to the “Chicken For Kids” program. The cost of the “Chicken For Kids” tickets is the same as the regular Chicken Fest tickets; $23 each. The expectation is that any donation you make is over and above your usual ticket sales. This does not replace usual ticket sales or usual donations.This is purely an invitation for an incremental donation to help the kids and their families in the west end. What Are The Benefits Of Chicken For Kids? • “Chicken For Kids” increases the visibility of Chicken Fest and creates a positive ripple affect which is not only felt in the school but throughout the community.• “Chicken For Kids” gives the school an opportunity to have their Student Council take a leadership role to receive and serve the lunch. The lunch creates a feeling of excitement throughout the school.• “Chicken For Kids” provides a day of relief for the families where both parents work to make ends meet and also the opportunity for the children of the school to eat together and strengthen their friendships.
