The EWC Summer Camp is for children ages 6 to 12 with registration being primarily offered to Indigenous children in foster care and their families, but also open to all children. Over the course of 4 weeks, we will be offering a day camp focused on 7 sacred teachings and Tipi teachings. This is an incredible opportunity for children with special needs to be connected to Indigenous Culture in a safe supportive environment, on a private acreage 25 minutes NW of Edmonton. Which is why she created this Summer Camp. We have partnered with Indigenous Teachers Monica Rain & Bryan Gibeau to bring this program together. Monica Rain is from the Stoney Nakoda Sioux Nation and is Knowledge Keeper with teachings and mentorship from her grandmother; a Stoney Nakoda Sioux elder and medicine woman. She is also a devoted mother to 9 children, a former foster parent and has a vision to connect children in foster care with traditional teachings to give them hope and a future connected to their Indigenous self.
