By making an online donation via this Zeffy fundraising portal *SEE BELOW* *PLEASE NOTE THE FOLLOWING IF YOU WANT TO DONATE VIA ZEFFY* Zeffy is a wonderful and FREE Canadian fundraising tool for nonprofits, charities and political campaigns,  While it allows us to conveniently collect donations online with none of the typical financial transaction fees or account expenses and also has some other very useful back end admin features it also has one potential drawback that we want you to be aware of before you use it to make a donation to us. To quote a well known adage 'you get nothing for nothing'. So, instead of charging us any transaction or account fees Zeffy invites our donors to also give them ‘a gratuity’ i.e. an additional payment or donation to them to help offset their operating costs.  This ‘give what you want’ approach is a modern business practice, which is increasingly being used in the Charity Giving and Nonprofit Fundraising sectors.  In theory, Zeffy's approach is reasonable. However some of our donors have told us that they find the method they use to request a gratuity confusing or even a bit misleadingas they go through the donation selection, payment and check-out process because Zeffy has a suggested gratuity donation amount built-in to their software by default. We do not want any of our supporters or donors to be confused or mislead so we want to clarify the following details;

It is NOT MANDATORY to give Zeffy any gratuity if you choose not to.

Any gratuity you approve for Zeffy is IN ADDITION TO your donation to us.

Zeffy has set their default suggested gratuity amount at 15%.

We cannot alter or remove their default gratuity amount in our Zeffy profile.

However you as the donor can remove it.

So, if you would like to donate to us via the Zeffy online tool we explain step by step below how to alter or remove Zeffy's gratuity amount: Step by Step Example Assuming You Wish To Make A $200 Donation: 1, Select or input the $200 donation amount for my campaign.2. The SUMMARY section that confirms the $200 amount also says: ‘Help keep Zeffy free for Desmond Jordan Campaign 2026 💜Your generosity allows Desmond Jordan Campaign 2026 to use Zeffy's 100% free fundraising and emailing platform with unlimited support, making your impact even stronger. 🇨🇦 Zeffy is proudly Canadian. Learn More [$30 14.95%] 3.
