There is a proposed development on Benoir and Elephant Lakes which could have severe detrimental effects downstream on Baptiste Lake. While the request now is for approximately 63 housing units, the developers website envisions a total development of 1,271 housing units. Baptiste Lake Association has been given party status at the Ontario Land Tribunal where the project is being considered after having been denied by Haliburton County and Dysart et al Municipality. As a party to the proceedings the Baptiste Lake Association has hired a lawyer to represent its interests at the hearing.
