Au cours de cette période, le CAH a tenu des ateliers, organisé des projections de films, encouragé des discussions communautaires, construit des réseaux au sein des communautés locales, agricoles et alimentaires, et nous avons créé des projets ciblés sur l’alimentation. Le plus important projet du CAH est la Ferme communautaire Betterêve de Hudson, une ferme maraîchère biologique locale, à petite échelle et diversifiée, à laquelle des centaines de personnes adhèrent chaque année depuis 2017. Cette ferme fait partie intégrante de la mission d'enseignement de l'agriculture biologique et de la culture des légumes du CAH. Elle permet l'achat de produits locaux et elle invite la population à s’engager au renforcement de la résilience et de l’autonomie alimentaire de la communauté. Sur cette ferme, avec l’aide de nombreuses personnes, plus de vingt-cinq tonnes de légumes biologiques ont été cultivées, fournissant des produits frais aux bénévoles, aux clients, et à la banque alimentaire. La ferme elle-même est un lieu de rassemblement pour la communauté - où des réseaux, des amitiés et même de l'amour ont fleuri ! Il est connu qu’une alimentation juste, saine et équitable est au cœur de communautés heureuses, écologiques et florissantes – et que ces attributs sont de la plus haute importance. La façon dont nos sociétés cultivent, distribuent et consomment la nourriture est parfois incroyablement nuisible, mais autrement, elle peut être magnifiquement régénératrice. En ces temps incertains où les crises environnementales, médicales et sociétales se multiplient, je demeure fermement convaincue qu’il est essentiel et fondamental de développer des systèmes alimentaires écologiques robustes pour se donner un avenir viable. Au cours de cette période, le CAH a tenu des ateliers, organisé des projections de films, encouragé des discussions communautaires, construit des réseaux au sein des communautés locales, agricoles et alimentaires, et nous avons créé des projets ciblés sur l’alimentation. Le plus important projet du CAH est la Ferme communautaire Betterêve de Hudson, une ferme maraîchère biologique locale, à petite échelle et diversifiée, à laquelle des centaines de personnes adhèrent chaque année depuis 2017. Cette ferme fait partie intégrante de la mission d'enseignement de l'agriculture biologique et de la culture des légumes du CAH. Elle permet l'achat de produits locaux et elle invite la population à s’engager au renforcement de la résilience et de l’autonomie alimentaire de la communauté. Sur cette ferme, avec l’aide de nombreuses personnes, plus de vingt-cinq tonnes de légumes biologiques ont été cultivées, fournissant des produits frais aux bénévoles, aux clients, et à la banque alimentaire. La ferme elle-même est un lieu de rassemblement pour la communauté - où des réseaux, des amitiés et même de l'amour ont fleuri ! Il est connu qu’une alimentation juste, saine et équitable est au cœur de communautés heureuses, écologiques et florissantes – et que ces attributs sont de la plus haute importance. La façon dont nos sociétés cultivent, distribuent et consomment la nourriture est parfois incroyablement nuisible, mais autrement, elle peut être magnifiquement régénératrice. En ces temps incertains où les crises environnementales, médicales et sociétales se multiplient, je demeure fermement convaincue qu’il est essentiel et fondamental de développer des systèmes alimentaires écologiques robustes pour se donner un avenir viable. Je sais qu'avec une communauté de soutien, nous pouvons continuer à construire et à renforcer des projets extraordinaires pour un monde meilleur.
