Meet Benji &mdash; a 1-year-old, 22 lb Brittany Griffon mix in Guadalajara, Mexico, who has been through more than any dog should have to endure. Benji was found on the streets of Michoac&aacute;n, dragging his back legs behind him with severe injuries. His rescuer initially thought he had been hit by a car, but X-rays revealed something even more heartbreaking: a bullet lodged in his spine.💔 The injury left Benji paralyzed from the waist down. Because his back legs had gone without adequate blood flow for too long, both legs ultimately had to be amputated.And yet&hellip; Benji is still Benji. ❤️ His rescuer describes him as an amazingly happy dog who truly embraces life. He loves car rides, toys, food, cuddles, attention, playing in the yard, and making friends. He&#39;s currently doing physical therapy and showing everyone just how much fight and joy this little guy has. Now we want to give Benji something that will make a HUGE difference in his quality of life: a wheelchair. 🦽🐶 His front legs are currently doing all the work, and his veterinary team has recommended a wheelchair to help support his mobility and prevent unnecessary strain while he continues his rehabilitation. 🦽 Our goal: 4,400 MXN That&#39;s all we need to get Benji fitted with his very own wheelchair in Mexico &mdash; one that he can use now and take with him when he finds his forever home.
