We know 2025 has been a difficult year. We also know accessible arts events are an important part of the social fabric when times are tough. Now in our 14th season, Long Winter has always aimed to create low-barrier events where audiences of all ages and backgrounds can come together to discover underground music and art of all kinds under the same roof.&nbsp; Since 2012, we&rsquo;ve programmed more than 2,000 artists, introducing new audiences to new acts and facilitating connections between artists who might not otherwise perform in the same scenes, creating high-quality productions for seasoned headliners and emerging performers alike. In 2015, Pitchfork noted, &ldquo;In a city where the cost of living has increased dramatically over the past decade and nighttime entertainment options for teens are scarce, Long Winter is a proudly all-ages, pay-what-you-can event.&rdquo;&nbsp; The cost of living has only mounted, but our commitments stand.&nbsp; While we receive modest grant funding from all levels of government as a not-for-profit organization, we cannot operate on grants alone. We rely on community support, individual donations, partnerships, and private sponsors to be able to provide artists and audiences the choose-your-own-adventure experiences that make Long Winter special. Unfortunately, Long Winter does not have charitable status, which has historically been a significant obstacle to fundraising, as we are currently unable to offer tax-deductible receipts for your contributions.&nbsp; Whether you&rsquo;ve participated as a programmed artist, found a new favourite band, tiptoed through Allan Gardens with us, moshed at Galleria Mall, or brought a date to one of our events at The Great Hall, please consider making a donation to our not-for-profit organization as part of your year-end giving.
