Mission: 7 Days &mdash; Because Hunger Doesn&#39;t Take Half-Days 🛑 Guelph is a city that looks out for its neighbours. But right now, our most vulnerable are facing a crisis. The Royal City Mission has had its funding cut in half. As a result, instead of being open seven days a week, starting April 2026 the Mission is only able to operate three and a half days a week. That means for three and a half days every week, people in our community will have:&nbsp; &nbsp; &bull; &nbsp; &nbsp;no access to food,&nbsp; &nbsp; &bull; &nbsp; &nbsp;no bathrooms,&nbsp; &nbsp; &bull; &nbsp; &nbsp;no showers,&nbsp; &nbsp; &bull; &nbsp; &nbsp;no laundry,&nbsp; &nbsp; &bull; &nbsp; &nbsp;and nowhere warm to go during the day. In winter. This affects seniors, people with disabilities, people dealing with mental health challenges, and people who are already doing everything they can just to get through the day.&nbsp; Some have housing but rely on the Mission for food, warmth, hygiene, and community. Others have nowhere else to go at all.Hunger and homelessness don&rsquo;t take days off.
