A joint initiative of United Way Thunder Bay and Thunder Bay Community Foundation. Communities across Northwestern Ontario have been deeply affected by ongoing wildfires. Families have been displaced, entire communities have been evacuated, and front-line agencies and service providers have stepped forward to provide food, shelter, transportation, wellness supports, and other essential services. In response to inquiries from individuals, workplaces, organizations, and United Ways across Canada asking how they can help, United Way Thunder Bay and Thunder Bay Community Foundation have partnered to establish the Northwestern Ontario Wildfire Community Support Fund. The Fund will provide coordinated support to front-line agencies and service providers responding to the immediate needs of affected communities, including many First Nation communities experiencing prolonged evacuation and displacement &mdash; while&nbsp;also investing in longer-term recovery efforts as those communities begin to rebuild.
