Pedal Car Grand PrixCountryside Camp and Conference Centre will be hosting a Pedal Car Grand Prix on May 2&nbsp;from 1-3pm at the Calvary Ayr Church at 173 Northumberland St, Ayr, ON. &nbsp;This Pedal Car Grand Prix is a fundraising event that will assist Countryside Camp with sponsoring over 50 children and youth to attend their summer ministry, &ldquo;Camp Shalom&rdquo;, this summer. The Pedal Car Grand Prix will start at 1pm on a challenging course marked out in the parking lot at Calvary Ayr and will finish by 3pm. Our Pedal Cars have a rider weight restriction of 350 lbs and have an adjustable seat for children and adults. If your rider is old enough to attend camp (6yrs), then they are old enough to ride; young riders should bring their bike helmets. Those under 6yrs can ride with a parent. This year the Pedal Car Grand Prix will start with SPRINTERS. &nbsp;The SPRINTERS are individuals who want to race the clock for the title of the FASTEST SPRNTER. Each SPRINTER will register online and compete in a timed two-lap race. The fee is $20, and we will accept 20 SPRINTERS in this first race of the day. The second race of the Pedal Car Grand Prix will be the LIT&rsquo;L SPEEDERS. LIT&rsquo;L SPEEDERS are children between the ages of 6 and 10 years who will compete on a five-man team and race for 10 laps. Six LIT&rsquo;L SPEEDERS teams will race together to see which LIT&rsquo;L SPEEDERS team will cross the finish line first and head to the WINNER&rsquo;S CIRCLE! The team fee is $50. The third race of the Pedal Car Grand Prix will be for PIT CREW racers. PIT CREW racers are any age and will race for two laps. These racers will line up in the PIT ROW and be directed to available cars. The fee for PIT CREW racers has been covered by our Pedal Car Grand Prix Sponsors!&nbsp; The fourth race of the Pedal Car Grand Prix will be the main event. These GRAND PRIX RACERS are 10 years and older and will compete on a six-man team racing 25 laps: Riders under 10 years of age will race a minimum of 2 laps each; Riders 10 years and older will race a maximum of 5 laps each. &nbsp;Eight teams will compete in a round robin race in two divisions of four teams, each seeking the top two finishing places in their division. &nbsp;Once these top finishing four teams are determined, they will compete in a final 15 lap race for the title of GRAND CHAMPIONS! The team fee is $60. Since 2010, our Stand in the Gap partners have sponsored over 1,300 children and youth to attend &quot;Camp Shalom&quot;!&nbsp; Please join us in impacting the lives of children and youth across southern Ontario!
