Built with architect Jean-Paul Pothier in 1962-1963 in Repentigny, the Notre-Dame-des-Champs church is a singular object in the work of Roger D&rsquo;Astous, one of the most creative and talented architects that Quebec has known, but also in the overall architectural production of places of worship in Quebec. The cedar shingle roof of the current building has been in place since the church&#39;s inauguration and needs to be replaced, as it is in an advanced state of deterioration. For several years, pieces of shingles have been detaching from the building, and signs of infiltration are presents in the nave. The parish wishes to undertake restoration work, but it does not have the necessary funds to complete the project. This is an operation that proves to be costly and complex due to the large area to cover and the particular shape of the roof.
