🌟 Join us in Shaping History! 🌟 Teajai Travis, Windsor-based artist, musician, and storyteller (and proud Windsor-Essex Black Council member), is now midway through his 750-kilometre Walk for Peace. His journey began on July 1, 2026, at Parliament Hill, and he will arrive in Windsor&#39;s Jackson Park on Emancipation Day, Saturday, August 1. Throughout his walk, Teajai has been raising funds for two outstanding youth organizations: Sandwich Teen Action Group (STAG) and the Windsor Youth Centre (WYC). On Saturday, July 25, Teajai will dedicate 30 kilometres - approximately 42,000 steps - to support the Emancipation Jubilee.&nbsp;You can sponsor as few or as many steps as you wish at $0.25 per step.&nbsp; If we can collectively sponsor all 42,000 steps, we will raise $10,500 in support of the Jubilee! What&#39;s the Emancipation Jubilee? Hosted by The Black Council of Windsor-Essex, the 6th Annual Emancipation Jubilee&nbsp;brings together culture, food, art, music, fashion, and powerful political, creative and community voices. The Jubilee is a tribute to the history, resilience, and joy of Windsor&rsquo;s Black community that commemorates the Slavery Abolition Act of August 1, 1834, which ended slavery throughout the British Colonies, including Canada and parts of the Caribbean.
