2026 marks 55 years since the first Ontario Youth Choir, and we&#39;re asking for your help to support the next 55! We are looking for 55 new donors to support OYC with a donation of any multiple of $55 and help us reach our target. Since 1971, OYC has provided a unique opportunity each summer for young singers from across Ontario to work with some of Canada&#39;s outstanding choral leaders in a 10-day, professional-level training experience, culminating in a performance tour.Your contribution today helps Choirs Ontario ensure the vitality and sustainability of the province&rsquo;s flagship honour choir by:<ul fr-original-style="text-align: start;" style="text-align: start; box-sizing: inherit;"><li fr-original-style="" style="box-sizing: inherit;">Keeping tuition affordable for c. 40 auditioned participants each summer</li><li fr-original-style="" style="box-sizing: inherit;">Purchasing new music from living Canadian composers</li><li fr-original-style="" style="box-sizing: inherit;">Supporting production, touring and marketing costs to reach different communities across the province each summer</li><li fr-original-style="" style="box-sizing: inherit;">Securing professional artist fees for each year&#39;s invited guest conductor and collaborative pianist</li></ul>An astonishing 75% of OYC participants continue to sing chorally throughout their lives and 3-4 choristers per cohort go on to pursue music professionally.
