The Halton-Peel Community Aphasia Programs supports adults living with aphasia &mdash; an acquired communication disorder most often caused by stroke that makes speaking, understanding, reading, and writing difficult. While aphasia affects language, it does not affect intelligence. Our programs create supportive spaces where people with aphasia can practice communication, build confidence, and reconnect with others who understand their experience.
