This is a fundraiser for the people of the Namaygoosisagagun First Nation who have lost everything because of the (avoidable) wildfire. The Namaygoosisagagun First Nation, also known as Collins First Nation, is west of Armstrong, about 250 kilometres north of Thunder Bay, and the residents of this First Nation have been displaced since July 13, 2026. Their entire community has been destroyed, and they no longer have homes to return to. What makes the wildfire crisis impacting The Namaygoosisagagun First Nation unique is that its residents are recognized as First Nations people under the Indian Act *but* Namaygoosisagagun is not recognized as a First Nation, and this non-recognition means that they are not receiving assistance from the Government of Canada. A systemic failure to protect First Nations Peoples, their homes and their lands. We need to collectively show up for the people of The Namaygoosisagagun First Nation who have lost everything, and only escaped with their lives. No donation is too small, and every act of generosity is meaningful and greatly appreciated. 100% of your donation will go directly to the people of The Namaygoosisagagun First Nation. Note: At checkout, the “gift” to Zeffy (this platform) is OPTIONAL.
