At just two and a half years old, Artem&rsquo;s life became a fight for survival. Diagnosed with a rare and aggressive brain tumour, he and his family left Ukraine in search of lifesaving treatment. For the next three years, his childhood was spent in hospitals, enduring surgeries, chemotherapy, radiation and three bone marrow transplants. He missed simple moments like learning, making friends, playing and discovering the world. When his family finally came to Canada, Artem was cancer-free, but the journey was far from over.
