Composée de chirurgiens urologues, d'anesthésistes et d'infirmières québécoises, l'équipe médicale bénévole (ils prennent de deux à quatre semaines de vacances pour la cause!) de la Fondation Mères du Monde en Santé opère sans frais et offre des soins, toujours gratuitement, aux femmes souffrant d'incontinence sévère à la suite d'accouchements difficiles. L'Organisation mondiale de la santé (OMS) estimait récemment à deux millions le nombre de femmes dans cet état en Asie et en Afrique subsaharienne, à laquelle s'ajoute de 50 000 à 100 000 nouveaux cas par année. 
Les sommes recueillies permettront de payer les frais de déplacement et d'hospitalisation des femmes présentant une fistule et les frais de déplacement de l'équipe médicale bénévole.

Composed of urologist surgeons, anesthesiologists and Quebec nurses, our volunteer team operates free of charge and provides care, always free of charge, to women suffering from severe incontinence following difficult deliveries. The World Health Organization recently estimated that there are two million women in that state in Asia and sub-Saharan Africa, plus 50,000 to 100,000 new cases per year.
The funds raised will cover travel and hospitalization costs for women with fistula and travel expenses for the volunteer medical team.
